The Big Help Out - Fundraising lead

Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees

Start Date 2023-04-01

With a growing number of refugee families from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine in our area, our requirment for donations is greater than ever. In addition to providing local practical support to refugee families in our area - welcoming, help with learning English, finding jobs, providing lifts - we also make small grants to refugee families to help with their resettlement and to improve their quality of life.

Our successful fundraising programme to date has involved concerts, cookbooks, Dragon Boat Races and many other events and activities. The fundraising lead will help us make the most of these and develop other fundraising ideas.

The fundraising lead will develop strategies and plans to generate income across a diversified range of income streams to achieve long term, sustainable income growth.

S/he will also develop partnerships and supporter relationships which contribute to the work of SWR and improve understanding of the impact of a donation.

Key tasks are:

- develop a 3-year fundraising strategy and plan;

- build a small team of volunteer fundraisers;

- work closely with the marketing and communications lead to create and engage on-line communities
